Required Skills: Bachelor''s degree in Engineering or comparable experience.
Redshift
4+ years work experience with AWS Redshift or another analytic columnstore, or external columnar data format, like Parquet or ORC, combined with a SQL engine, like Hive, Presto, or Impala.
2+ years experience with SQL analysis, development and troubleshooting activities, including data warehousing, analytical applications development and support.
2+ years experience with enterprise database operations as a primary DBA.
1+ years experience with data lake and SQL engine design, operations, and maintenance experience.
Experience with MPPs.
Experience with Redshift Migration.
Experience with analytics on a big data stack.
Experience with AWS services and AWS CLI.
Optimize Redshift Data warehouse by implementing workload management, sort keys & distribution keys
Ability to code / script in Python.
A demonstrated understanding of analytic data modeling for big data and strong data analysis skills.
An understanding of the differences between columstores and row stores.
An interest and ability to learn new technologies.
Be results focused, with an interest and ability to work under challenging deadlines and constraints.
An ability to support remote teams and customers.
Infra:
Experience in provisioning and maintenance of AWS infrastructure
Clear understanding of the different AWS components and services
Experience in setting up security implementation
Network architect support and provisioning
Experience with monitoring , support and automation etc
Experience with documentation of different services, the data flow and create standard support and maintenance documents
AWS Redshift:
Deploy and administer AWS Redshift, columnar data lake, and SQL query engines.
Migrate the Redshift cluster from One AWS account to Another AWS account.
Automate provisioning, operation, monitoring and troubleshooting of the database and data lake infrastructure.
Provide consistent database maintenance, optimization and best practices inputs to existing Redshift and SQL databases, data lake, SQL engines, and applications.
Provide Disaster Recovery (DR) planning and execution with RPO/RTO objectives and SLAs.
Create smart solutions for the problems we encounter with a willingness to do maintenance type jobs.
Exposure to ETL Understanding
Technical architecture understanding and documentation
Infrastructure/Environment:
- Understanding on AWS various components and services
- Environment setup (O/S, software’s)
- Network Architecture (VPC, Subnet, Routing, IP, VPN, NAT gateway et)
- Security Setup (IAM policies, Alertlogic) and Architecture
