Role: BI Architect Location: Chicago,IL Duration: 8 months Top Skills: 1. Must truly understand Analytics, BI, and Data mart 2. Need to be able to source and configure solutions using current technology 3. FS Experience The role will be on the Enterprise Analytics Team where they do large scale projects and smaller projects for external clients. The HM shares these resources across 15 projects. This is a great opportunity for people who like to work on interesting projects in all areas of the business. There are projects tied to Machine Learning and AI projects so there will be several opportunities to work with cutting-edge technology. There is currently one person working in this capacity since the other two left the team. We really need someone who can come in and hit the ground running. This role will interface with business partners across the enterprise, in addition to on and off shore developers, as well as BAs. Please be sure to ask potential candidates what is their specific experience with Data Marts and Cognos. Description: Must have experience designing end to end business intelligence solutions Must be an expert in designing data marts for business intelligence reporting Must be an expert with Cognos, Power BI and other related BI tools Experience in building complex dashboards with rich visualizations and complex data sets. Must be able to design and build a semantic model with a scalable physical, logical and Presentation layers. Must understand complex data models and mappings, prevention of unions, stitches, unions, nested datasets, et al Must be able to quickly "visualize" the SQL getting passed to the database, understanding the WHERE, SELECT, GROUP BY, RANK/ORDER and aggregation functions and on what tables based solely on the input prompts and the output layout Must be able to talk to report authors, developers and data modelers in their own lingo Must have client and stakeholder interaction abilities and working with cross functional teams Work closely with business stakeholders, business analysts, internal customers, developers and architects to implement Bi systems Experience with building analytics in Azure a strong plus Performance tuning and query optimization experience is required Must have very good exposure to Agile project execution. Must understand basic governor settings, server versus database side processing; DMR versus relational, pitfalls of DQM; Use of a DQ Analyzer to isolate issues Desired experience with latest Business Intelligence and analytical technologies (Ex: Analytics, Big Data, Statistics, Algorithms, and Cloud computing etc Prior experience working with financial systems and data marts is a plus Understanding application of Machine Learning to BI a plus Required Skills : Cognos 11 is required
