Provide highly technical consulting in identifying and implementing  Storage information technologies that enable highly available environments that assist in meeting data protection and disaster recovery goals.  Acts as expert technical resource in multiple infrastructure disciplines. Plans, Implements and maintains highly critical Storage and Backup platforms, including block, file and backup data protection systems. End to end troubleshooting skills for effective problem resolution of all Storage and Backup issues. Highly motivated and shows absolute ownership in the environment. Plans and implements automation, alerting and monitoring to make systems ready for operational support. Plans and executes changes and migration efforts adhering to proper change control. Documents all tasks and procedures.


Provide all engineering delivery services and data protection services across large complex environment of storage consisting of  EMC PowerMax, VNX , Unity, IDPA/Avamar, Data Domain, Isilon.
Demonstrate superior troubleshooting and technical support abilities with the proven ability to drive to root cause analysis in complex multiplatform storage and backup environments.
Assist in managing Storage projects and communications driving toward successful completing of key strategic initiatives
Provide automation support enabling faster more reliable service to our customers/client
Assist in the effort to operationalize tasks in the environment- Identify and document
Demonstrate an in-depth background in disaster recovery and backup technologies including EMC IDPA/ Avamar DataDomain. Unity, SRDF and SNAP technology
Excellent knowledge of storage/server virtualization, converged infrastructure and cloud enablement technologies such as VMWare
Collaborate with Infrastructure Specialists and Architects in the development of Enterprise Storage and Backup solutions. Run end to end POCs, projects and report back to management with comprehensive results that decisions can be based upon
Provide project engineering support by analyzing requirements, creating and overseeing the design and delivery of physical designs and specifications
Drive capacity planning sessions including all assets under management. Block, File, Backup environments and licenses. Ensure that proper agreed upon capacity levels are maintained and reported on through automation and storage tools
Plans implements and maintains recommendations.
Shell or Powershell scripting experience a plus


SAN/NAS:      EMC – PowerMax Xtreme IO, VNX/VNX2, VPLEX, Isilon, Unity
REPLICATION:   SRDF,Avamar and DataDomain , Unity                       
BACKUP/RECOVERY:   EMC IDPA, DataDomain and Avamar
FABRIC: Cisco FC MDS and Cisco FICONN switches, PowerPath and PowerPath/VE Multipathing.

Expert-level diagnostic skills across multiple infrastructure disciplines.
Ability to express complex technical concepts effectively (verbally and written); and
Ability to work well with people from different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience.
College degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
7 – 9 years’ experience as Storage Systems Engineer.
