Sr. Software Engineer Analyst also recommends alterations and enhancements to improve quality of products and/or procedures. Level Expectations: Possess advanced knowledge of the tools and processes required by the role. Function well in large-scale, highly complex, cross-functional / platform environment. Solid individual performance, but may spend considerable portion of their time providing direction for others. Share knowledge, coach and mentor Standard level resources in area of expertise. May serve as technical lead in area of expertise. May have duties instructing, directing, and checking the work of others. Good communication and relationship skills, both in directing the technical team and updating ESI leadership. Essential Functions: Work with TPO and Business to evaluate complex user requests, projects, and clarify objectives and requirements for new or modified computer programs. Determine feasibility, cost and time required, compatibility with current system, and system capabilities. Prepare project documentation when needed. Evaluate error messages, modify code and troubleshoot programming problems. Write documentation describing program development, logic, coding, and corrections using JIRA. Participate in the development of user manuals and operating procedures Provide assistance to IT team members with issues needing technical expertise or systems and / or programming knowledge. Ability to work in an Agile scrum methodology with timeboxed Sprint deadlines. Demonstrated ability to prioritize work load and meet project deadlines. Ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment and make independent decisions. Must be extremely process and detail oriented. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Familiarity with health care industry very helpful. Provides expert content/professional leadership on complex Engineering assignments/projects. Designs and develops a consolidated, conformed enterprise data warehouse and data lake which store all critical data across Customer, Provider, Claims, Client and Benefits data. Designs, develops and implements methods, processes, tools and analyses to sift through large amounts of data stored in a data warehouse or data mart to find relationships and patterns. Participates in the delivery of the definitive enterprise information environment that enables strategic decision-making capabilities across enterprise via an analytics and reporting. Exercises considerable creativity, foresight, and judgment in conceiving, planning, and delivering initiatives. Uses deep professional knowledge and acumen to advise functional leaders. Focuses on providing thought leadership within Information Management but works on broader projects, which require understanding of wider business. Recognized internally as a subject matter expert. Skills Responsibilities: Developing, testing and maintaining new and existing code base · Translating high level requirements into functioning software · Providing On-call production support Required skills: · 5+ years COBOL experience · Experience with batch and screen programming · Experience working with Agile methodologies · Knowledge and use of Microsoft suite Bonus skills: · Experience with Jira and Confluence · Knowledge of Stratus Technology and Stratus COBOL Willingness and ability to learn/us new technologies: Java, Springboot, React as examples.
