Job title: SQL DBA Location: Atlanta GA Duration: Long term JOB DESCRIPTION Database Administrator (DBA)Tasks Implement, configure, and troubleshoot database instances, replication, backup, partitions, storage, and access. Set user privileges within the database environment. Monitor and optimize system performance using index tuning, disk optimization, and other methods. Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain a database system. Monitoring the system of software and hardware alert Troubleshoot all BRMS (Backup, Recovery and Media Services) tape backup strategies SQL Server Database server monitoring and maintenance tasks. Handling the incident management, service request management using ticketing tool Perform database tuning and performance monitoring in production systems Review and tune SQL / PL-SQL code Gauge the effectiveness and efficiency of existing SQL Server Database; develop and implement strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems in terms of processing performance. Should plan and perform capacity planning and performance tuning Should act as visionary and strategist for iSeries administration/troubleshooting Create and maintain documentation as it relates to system configuration, mapping, processes, and service records. Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real-time, providing problem resolution end-to-end. Perform system and application upgrades Make recommendations on the need for new architecture, servers, system/application upgrades, and software upgrades to ensure performance and reliability of database systems Provide training whenever needed.
