The role focus is senior Java but strong SOLR and Big Data experience is required.
Skills you must have:
This position requires a BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology or related field with 7+ years of prior experience in software development, Data Engineering and
Business Intelligence OR equivalent experience.
Following are the some of the key skills that you must have.
5+ years of strong programming background in Java (Scala programming knowledge is nice to have)
At least 3 years of experience using and working with Apache SOLR and associated technologies
3+ Experience in designing and building SOLR based applications that support ingestion/retrieval of large amounts of data
Considerable experience Tuning SOLR indexes for near real time Ingestion and Retrieval
Good understanding of Cloudera/Hortonworks distribution, Hive, Spark and Apache Zookeeper
Good shell scripting experience is a must
Rigor in high code quality, automated testing, and other engineering best practices, ability to write reusable code components.
Must be able to work in Scrum or other agile development-based methodologies
Skills nice to have:
Healthcare experience
Cloudera Certified Developer/Administrator
What you’ll do:
As a senior search engineer, you will design and build cutting edge data solutions leveraging the Cloudera Big Data technology stack (specifically SOLR and other associated tools and technologies)
and other open source products. With some supervision, you will perform design and development activities, Optimization and Performance Tuning, technical documentation, system performance
support, and internal customer support.
You’ll work with Data Analysts, Solution Architects and other Data Engineers to design and implement robust data pipelines that solve important business problems.

The incumbent’s accountabilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
90% System Design and Implementation: Designs and Builds Big Data search solutions to meet business requirements.
Assumes complete ownership of Delivery from Data Engineering stand point in given project(s)
10% Research and Development: Learns and implements new technologies to benefit the business
