IDEALFORCE has a Contract position available immediately for a Java FIHR Developer to join our customer in Salt Lake City, UT. This is an ONSITE position. Job Description:
The Client is seeking a full or part-time Java developer to develop web service APIs and rapid prototypes/pilots using HL7 FHIR, SMART on FHIR, and other industry standards. This position will develop web service APIs that will be used by internal and external systems to match with and search person records that are in the Department of Health Master Person Index (DOHMPI), match and search patient records with Utah Health Information Network (UHIN) master person index, and query DOH databases and share data with partners following national standards. This position will also help work on DOH’s FHIR server and related ecosystem, as well as to lead the development of SMART prototypes. These prototypes will be tested and vetted in industry events, the engineer will take business direction from the HIO Director and HIO senior health informaticist for iterative development of functional prototypes.

The APIs and prototypes will be developed using core and J2EE standards SOA standards, utilize spring boot and microservices architecture, and implement standard health messaging standards, just as HL7 and FHIR. The APIs will query a variety of databases, including PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, and MySQL. The APIs will provide client authentication and authorization, using OAUTH2 and integrate with the state Utah Master Directory, for all requests and keep a detailed audit log of all transactions. Additionally, appropriate data security standards must be met, and approved data encryption techniques will be used. Therefore, experience consuming data from RESTful APIs and developing FHIR APIs and/or SMART on FHIR Apps are pluses.

Skill Required:
-Has a BS or MS plus 3 years working in real-world, agile, software development environments.
-Has exceptional software development skills, with demonstrated project experience using emerging and traditional technologies such as Node.js, Docker, Java 8+, JavaScript, REST, Postman, and/or Spring Boot.
-Is experienced in the development of RESTful APIs. Experience with HL7’s Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) standard and other health IT standards is a plus.
-Expertise in industry standard IDE’s (like Eclipse, IntelliJ) for debugging and using java coding standards from the beginning of the development
