Job Description:
The objective of the L2/3 Technical Support Engineer is to develop a dominant understanding of product design, feature/function, customer use cases, deployment architecture and operation and to use this knowledge in support of our diagnosing customer issues and driving resolutions. The candidate must be able to work under pressure and escalations, servicing technical support calls from Communication Service Providers. The candidate must be able to interpret the customer's problems, review logs and files, ask diagnostic questions of the customer, review configuration changes, search for known issues, perform research, and identify defects. The candidate must also be able configure lab equipment to reproduce customer issues and be able to research and self-learn product information and/or adjoining technology information. The candidate must be able to identify Serviceability requirements from these incidents and contribute towards increasing the product robustness.

General technical requirements include:
Strong technology background and experience in handling Technical Support or deployment experience in large enterprise solutions is required.
Minimum 5years experience with the following technologies: J2EE (JBoss, Oracle Weblogic Server, Tomcat, Apache, EJB, Servlets, JMS, JMX, SOAP, REST and Webservices.
Familiarity with RDBMS databases (preferably Oracle or MariaDB), Reporting and data analysis
Functional knowledge or experience usingJava Script, Redis, CSS, XML,XSLT and HTML is a plus.
Strong working knowledge in troubleshooting Java applications using thread, memory and performance analyser tools is required.
Hands on experience with RedHat Linux is required.
Hands on experience on CNS Business Applications products such as SMP, HDM or CDP is an added advantage.
Hands on working experience supporting Device management (using TR069, TR181, OMA-DM/CP or IoT LWM2M protocols) is a great advantage.
Knowledge of containerization, Docker, Kubernetes is a plus.
Functional knowledge of network protocols to include sockets, HTTP, TCP/IP, SSL, Weblogic T3, unicast, multicast and networking basics (packet capturing, routing, load balancing) is required.
Basic knowledge on 3GPP, Diameter protocol, concepts of HSS, HLR,SMSC is an added advantage.
Hands on Experience with RabbitMQ, Nginx, Prometheus, Grafana would be an added advantage.
Specific Job Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot Product, application, integration and environment issues escalated from customers.
  • Troubleshoot/resolve customer problems of complex nature such as product configurations, integration, database, networking,code defects or other issuesin a timely manner and meet defined service level targets.
  • Capable of understanding the technical aspects of a complex system.
  • Acquire product knowledge and partner with product development team to improve the overall supportability and maintainability of the products.
  • Escalate to L4 and RnD and lead combined troubleshooting of critical cases, when required.
  • Analyze application logs, thread dumps, heap dumps and provide necessary modifications to provide workaround/resolve customer issues in a production environment.
  • Regularly update customers via case/issue management tool Salesforce, of ongoing troubleshooting and resolution efforts.
  • Contribute to knowledge management system to share knowledge within, across teams and with customers.
  • Reproduce and report product/application defects to Development team and escalate unresolved problems for a resolution and translate it tocustomer updates.
  • Provide 24x7 "on call" support for escalated issues or outages on a rotation basis.
  • Proactively seek out, research, and recommend/implement improvements to better serve customers.
  • Cultivate cross-department communication, collaboration, and synergy.
  • Ability to work with teams from various groups to deliver high quality support to the end customer.
