Infrastructure Integration Specialist (N/S) - Level 3 Toronto, ON Start Date 2021-04-01 End Date 2022-03-31 Description MSP Notes Shortlisting Date: Monday January 11th at 2:00pm EST Maximum number of Candidate Submissions: 3 (Three) In the candidate summary, please indicate which location this consultant would work from. Must haves: 8+ Years of experience with systems management tools 8+ years of experience with configuration management systems Experience with SAN installation and configuration on Hitachi, Oracle, IBM, and/or EMC 8+ Years of experience in systems analysis and design, and the use of development tools Consultant Work Location: One of the consultants is expected to work from 49 Place D'Armes, 5th Floor, Kingston; The second consultant is expected to work from 1000 Southgate Dr. Guelph; The third consultant will primarily work from 1000 Southgate Dr. Guelph but will also be required to go to Kingston periodically. There will be no reimbursement of travel cost (meal allowance) for such travel between Kingston and Guelph. Responsibilities Provides specialized technological support in the build of: Network or Server and SAN infrastructure. General Skills Experience integrating different technologies with standards based infrastructure Experience in providing specialized technological support during a project installation Awareness of emerging I&IT trends Knowledge of network topologies Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills; verbal and written communication skills; and interpersonal skills A team player with a track record for meeting deadlines Network Infrastructure Skills Network plan/design, build, device configuration, integration, implementation and deployment experience Expert hands-on experience building, deploying, managing and supporting large enterprise multi-tiered network infrastructure Strong practical hands on experience integrating services within large complex multi- tier networks, across multiple data centers. Expert hands on experience planning/designing, building, configuring, implementing, deploying and administering the following technologies within large enterprises: o CISCO ACE, PIX-ASA o Routers, Switches o CISCO 6500, Nexxus o Checkpoint Firewall NG, NGX o Nokia, SPLAT o GSS, CSS o RSTP, VLAN, Inter-VLan, L3 routing, OSPF o Network Management System (i.e. Solarwinds) o Certified network engineer with practical experience on network manufacturers (i.e. Juniper and Cisco) Server and SAN Infrastructure Skills Experience with one (1) or more different platforms e.g., Windows, Solaris, Linux Experience with the installation and setup of operating systems/environments and database technologies Knowledge of supporting programming languages and communications protocols for the specified platforms Experience with VmWare and/or Solaris containers Knowledge of middleware and gateways Desirable Skills Experience with systems management tools Experience with configuration management systems Experience with SAN installation and configuration on Hitachi, Oracle, IBM, and/or EMC Experience in systems analysis and design, and the use of development tools Skills Experience and Skill Set Requirements Deployment & Operations / Infrastructure Integration Specialist (Network or Server) / Level 3 Technical Skills - 30% Demonstrated knowledge building IT infrastructure Demonstrated knowledge working with and supporting multiple technical teams Demonstrated knowledge with V-Centre, VMware and building and maintaining virtual servers Demonstrated knowledge building and supporting servers of Windows 2008, 2012, 2016, Solaris, AIX, Mainframe Demonstrated knowledge of networking installation, supporting and configuring network devices (routers, switches, firewalls and load balancers) Demonstrated knowledge implementing and supporting security architecture Demonstrated knowledge building and supporting backup infrastructure Demonstrated knowledge installing, configuring, and supporting SAN and Tape Library Infrastructure Demonstrated knowledge of server installation and configuration, and loading of the Operating System including virtual servers Working in an Uptime Tier IV Datacentre - 20% Demonstrated knowledge with ITIL concepts and procedures. Demonstrated knowledge with Corporate Change, Incident, Problem, and Release Management. Demonstrated knowledge of Datacentre Protocols and Procedures Guides and working in an Uptime Certified Tier IV & Tier II Datacentre. Problem Solving - 15% Demonstrated knowledge of problem-solving techniques to provide leadership and solutions, which deal with a variety of advanced systems administration, technical, operational and service problems efficiently and effectively (e.g. troubleshooting persistent problems arising from diverse situations) Demonstrated knowledge to fulfil mandated Datacentre availability, reliability, efficiency and uptime service commitments. Demonstrated knowledge for engaging appropriate internal or external service provider resources, as required, to resolve issues in order to mitigate support failure and interruption to Datacentre operations. Demonstrated knowledge of guiding, monitoring, and coordinating work conducted by internal and external service providers, providing direction on work procedures and ensuring mitigation of adverse impact. General Skills - 5% Demonstrated ability for strong documentation and writing skills Demonstrated knowledge for providing incident resolution Demonstrated knowledge of engaging vendors to address incidents/issues Demonstrated ability of working with and supporting multiple technical teams Demonstrated knowledge in using Office 365, Remedy/eSMT ticketing system
