Job Requirements
"Minimum of six years'' experience in delivering data center projects (new construction, consolidation or relocation)
- Demonstrating leadership skills and possessing a track record of managing the delivery of technical work
- Strong project management skills, with experience in organizing, planning, and executing large scale data center relocation projects from vision through implementation, involving internal personnel, contractors, and vendors, managing cost, schedule, performance, quality, and risk
- Strong technical knowledge with hands-on experience, managing data center relocations
- Strong verbal and written communications skills, with an ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to communicate and persuade at all management levels and thrive in a cross-functional environment
Technical Experience
"- Must have a technical background and be capable of managing technical resources through design, implementation (build, install, configure, test), and transition to operations.
- Ability to collaborate with and leverage in house technical resources given their extensive knowledge of technology and architecture in the current data center.
- Experience working with technical resources, QA and application teams to execute all required testing (integration, functional, performance) at new location
- Experience managing data center projects both on-premise and at colocation centers.
- Experience managing data movement from one data center to another, familiarity with possible approaches and tools"
Unique Skills
"- Experience creating detailed estimates for data center moves
- Experience managing MS Project schedules, strong knowledge and understanding of key dependencies and activity sequencing relevant to a data center new build, consolidation or relocation
- Familiarity and experience with the process to order a circuit
- Experience facilitating RFPs with cabling vendors and cabling vendor management
- Experience with the procurement of IT infrastructure (racks, UPS, network, servers, storage) via a corporate purchasing department
- Experience working with shipping companies and moving equipment safely from one data center to another"
