Title: Lead RoR Developer
Location: Portland, Oregon
Duration:12+ Months Contract

As a liaison, you will provide technical guidance and oversight, as well as, facilitate communication with a seasoned offshore team for the ongoing development of product features and enhancements.

In This Role You Will Often:
Collaborate with offshore team members and onshore stakeholders over the design and development of product features and enhancements.
Provide technical oversight over feature development, ensure code reviews, and review and approve pull requests.
Remove roadblocks and/or bottlenecks for the offshore team and resolve questions in real time.
Work with the offshore team leads and onshore scrum master to help move projects to completion.
Develop product features and enhancements.
Participate in grooming and design sessions to understand requirements and determine technology solutions.
Act as the communication facilitator to ensure that onshore and offshore patterns and practices are understood, documented and followed.
Represent the voice of the offshore team in onshore technical discussions and decision making.

This Job Might Be For You If You:
Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar technical discipline or equivalent experience.
Enjoy working with remote teams across different cultures and time zones, preferably India
Are flexible with a schedule that may require splitting the work day to connect with team members in India.
Have spent 5+ years working as a full stack developer for a web based or multi-tier systems, preferably Rails.
Have a good grasp of front-end development techniques and end user expectations.
Understand and have experience with object-oriented programming concepts such as design patterns, encapsulation and inheritance, as well as, database design and software architecture.
Are a motivated individual with the ability to learn and come up to speed on new technologies quickly.

Have experience in the following technologies:
Rails
JavaScript (Angular / ReactJS / Redux / React Router)
GitHub best practices for team development involving feature branches, pull requests, release tags, etc.
Integrating and utilizing 3rd party libraries and tools
Agile software development practices, unit testing, continuous integration, etc.
