Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Hardware Designer who not only designs robust electronic systems but also excels atfield failure analysis and troubleshooting. This role requires hands-on debugging of customer-reported issues, root-cause analysis, and driving corrective actions across design, manufacturing, and quality teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop analog, digital, and mixed-signal hardware circuits
- Create schematics and support PCB design using Altium Designer
- Lead field issue investigation, including customer returns and on-site failures
- Perform detailed root-cause analysis (RCA) of hardware failures
- Debug issues related to power, signal integrity, EMI/EMC, thermal, and component reliability
- Reproduce field issues in lab environments and define corrective actions
- Support ECOs, design fixes, and validation testing for field issues
- Collaborate with firmware, manufacturing, quality, and supplier teams
- Analyze manufacturing and component-level failures (PCBA, soldering, aging, ESD, surge, etc.)
- Prepare failure analysis reports and corrective/preventive action documentation.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical / Electronics Engineering or equivalent
- Strong hands-on experience in hardware design using Altium Designer
- Proven experience in field failure troubleshooting and debugging
- Solid understanding of analog, digital, and power electronics
- Experience with lab equipment (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, spectrum analyzer, DMM)
- Knowledge of EMI/EMC, ESD, surge protection, and reliability concepts
- Ability to interpret schematics, PCB layouts, and manufacturing data
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Experience supporting products in customer or field environments
- Knowledge of DFM/DFA and manufacturing processes
- Exposure to automotive, industrial, telecom, or consumer electronics products
