Job Description :
This role will be responsible for rapid prototyping of distributed computing environments for large-scale geospatial analysis, particularly the analysis of Earth observation data. The core of the work will focus on creating a development environment for Earth science practitioners to leverage data (particularly satellite and aerial imagery) available on Azure Open Datasets.
* Fluency with Python required
* Fluency with geospatial raster data analysis required
* Fluency with Linux required
* Fluency with cloud (Azure, AWS, or GCP) infrastructure required
* Fluency with two or more distributed computing/querying frameworks (Kubernetes, Hadoop, Spark, Dask, AzurBatch, Big Query, etc required
* Experience with Jupyter required, experience with Jupyter Hub and/or Binder Hub strongly preferred
