Job Title: Domo BI Developer
Contract period: 6 months.
Location: Lehi, Utah
The Domo BI Developer is responsible for working with business stakeholders to identify their reporting and analysis pain-points, and developing solutions that meet their needs. Using Domo, the BI Developer will structure data in a way that can readily be rendered into insightful and actionable dashboards that give stakeholders the information they need to make informed decisions.
Scope of Work:
? Act as the primary team point of contact for everything Domo BI.
? Participate in the full lifecycle of BI development, from requirements gathering to end-user support.
? Collaborate with business users and functional teams to capture and define reporting and analysis requirements. Recommend procedures and policies to support these requirements.
? Bring clarity to requirements by efficiently communicating and iterating with stakeholders by adapting to their pace and style of work.
? Understand underlying data model and map business requirements to technical specifications. Make meaningful suggestions and assist in developing the data warehouse roadmap.
? Implement complex data transformation rules and create clean reusable data assets in cloud warehouses using SQL or Python.
? Document and maintain data catalog documents to provide consistent understandable business descriptions of data fields.
? Build data sources to be used for further analysis by consolidating data from multiple source systems using Domo.
? Build high-quality Domo dashboards based on gathered requirements within demanding timescales.
? Troubleshoot Domo flows and dashboards and SQL issues.
? Enhance existing SQL code, Domo Prep flows, and dashboards for performance optimization.
? Remain up-to-date on data modeling concepts, cloud warehouse features, and Domo functionality to ensure deliverables are always cutting-edge.
? Recognize and support the adoption of best practices in writing SQL code, dashboards, and reporting, including data integrity, analysis, test design, validation, and dashboard UI/UX development.
? Seek opportunities to drive innovation and process improvement within the reporting space.
Qualifications:
? Bachelors in Computer Science or Data Science.
? Masters in Statistical Analysis.
? 5+ years of experience working with at least one of the following BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.) with minimum of 3 years of experience working with Domo.
? 2+ years of experience in data cleansing and data transformation using python, SQL or dbt.
? Experience working with at least one of the following Modern Cloud Native Data Warehouses (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
? Strong advanced SQL skills with experience working with large datasets to generate reports and dashboards.
? Strong understanding of data, data structures, data models, with understanding of relational and dimensional modeling concepts.
? Experience with Domo's ETL tools, Data Flows, and imports to optimize Credit usage
? Experience with Domo’s ETL tools and Data Flows to visually define and sequence operations, as well as cleanse, combine, and transform data sets.
? Ability to gather business requirements and translate them into technical reporting/BI requirements for implementation.
? Strong business acumen and ability to address business problems with actionable insights via problem definition, structured problem solving, and storytelling to help stakeholders make data-informed decisions.
? Comfortable working with distributed teammates including offshore teams in an agile/scrum environment.
? Highly analytical thinker who leans towards structure and process.
? Excellent task management and task prioritization skills.
