Job Description

The Director of Technology Infrastructure is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and management of the organization s technology infrastructure. This role involves strategic planning, ensuring the reliability and security of IT systems, and leading a team of IT professionals to support the organization s goals. The director will collaborate with various departments to align technology initiatives with business objectives.

Critical Duties:

  • Provide strategic direction for the Cloud Engineering, System, and Network Operations team
  • Oversee Information Technology infrastructure services, including Azure, Active Directory (AD), Domain Name System (DNS) for both internal and external use, Microsoft O365, databases (e.g., MS SQL), email services (e.g., Exchange online), and collaboration tools (e.g., SharePoint)
  • Responsible for network services (e.g., switches, routers, load-balancers, and firewalls pertaining to LAN and WAN services)
  • Compiles internal technical requirements and otherwise participates in the requests for proposals for requested IT solutions up to and including collaborating in the development process in support of internal and external business applications

Essential Duties (other duties may be assigned):

  • Manages budgets (forward looking as well as actuals)
  • Responsible for data center facilities as well as cloud infrastructure and development environments
  • Responsible for managing capacity, performance, and availability of these services
  • Supports internal and external audit requirements
  • Responsible for backups and monitoring of systems and applications consistent with their service requirements
  • Manages vendor negotiations and contracts pertaining to these services

Education/Experience:

  • BS/BA Degree in CS, MIS, or Business Administration or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of related industry experience; prior background in a dynamically changing environment desired
  • Demonstrated effective experience in technical staff management and leadership

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of:

  • Project management methodologies such as Agile
  • Best practices IT Service Management such as ITIL
  • Microsoft technology stack including Server, SQL, Exchange, and SharePoint
  • Networking technology including routers, switches, firewalls, and load-balancers
  • Professional understanding of Cloud infrastructure

Skill in:

  • Proven track record of developing and implementing IT best practices and procedures
  • Managing highly technical teams of Cloud engineers, System, Network, and Database administrators
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, analytical, leadership, and presentation skills

Ability to:

  • Work independently as a self-starter and a strong problem solver
  • Handle multiple high priority project with a keen attention to detail

Certificates and Licenses

Microsoft, ITIL, and Cisco certificates a plus

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Will manage the Infrastructure Services team consisting of Cloud Engineers, Network, Database, and System Adminstrators.
