Job Description :

 

Primary Job Duties and Tasks

·        Responsible for building and managing the project/program management office/function for IT.

·        Define and develop enterprise-wide IT project/program management practices, governance standards, processes and metrics.

·        Ensure projects/programs are defined, tracked and communicated in a consistent and effective manner.

·        Incorporate effective change and risk management controls.

·        Partners with IT and business leadership and other key stakeholders to define opportunities, to identify and prioritize projects based on predefined criteria (return on investment, productivity, compliance).

·        Direct project/program managers with business case development.

·        Responsible for ensuring all projects within IT portfolios/programs are delivered on time, within budget and to an agreed quality level.

·        Must possess extensive knowledge and expertise in project/program management, portfolio management methodologies and tools.

·        This is a single incumbent position that typically exists in a large enterprise with multiple program managers and/or project managers as direct reports.

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

•      Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience. Project Management certification is required.

•      A minimum of 10 years of IT and business/industry work experience, with at least 3 years of leadership experience and 5 years managing projects and/or project portfolios.

•      Highly motivated and shows initiative, exceptional organizational and time management skills.

•      Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast paced, high velocity, environment; ability to stay focused on responsibilities, meet deadlines and manage competing priorities under pressure.

•      Ability to drive effective meetings: workshops, design, and problem-solving sessions.

•      Able to scale, apply, and adapt project management methodologies and frameworks.

•      Manage all project documentation.

•      Demonstrate and apply strong problem solving, analytical and conflict management skills

•      Ability to present ideas in business friendly and user-friendly language; demonstrated aptitude for working with, supporting and communicating with users and customers.

Education and Certifications

•      Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience. (Required)

•      Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP)
