Requirements for consideration:
· Recent experiences in Digital Transformations using Microservices driven architecture leveraging cloud platforms such as Azure, Aws or GCP.
· Implementation experience with API-first cloud commerce platform like Commercetools is a plus
· Experience in designing, securing, managing and scaling APIs via API Gateway and Service Mesh solutions (Apigee, Istio) as well as application development experience using Java (Spring/RXJava) and/or JavaScript (NodeJS) a plus, reactive programming experience preferred
· Experience implementing solutions based on NoSQL data store technologies (Document, Graph, Columnar, Data Grid)
· Retail and ecommerce experience are key requirement for this role.
· 12+ years of overall experience in information technology including architecture, design and development.
· Ability to communicate complex technical concepts in an approachable way for broad audiences. Clear ability to effectively translate technical information to business-focused stakeholders, along with ability to convey complex technical concepts in an approachable, understandable way.
· Responsible for, or assists in, the designing of interface standards, quality assurance standards, performance standards, and cost-benefit analysis of modem state-of-the art information systems.
· Deep understanding of component-based software development, infrastructure automation, and continuous integration/deployment
· Familiarity with standard IT security practices such as encryption, certificates and key management.
· Nice to have Experience working with deployment and orchestration technologies (such as Docker, Kubernetes, OpenStack, Puppet, Chef, Salt, Ansible, Jenkins)
· Ability to multi-task and adapt quickly to change. Possess a strong work ethic; takes pride in producing a quality product. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent decision making and leadership skills
Position summary:
· The Digital Architect is responsible for helping create design solution for Digital store platform.
· This architect is an innovative thinker and can envision how technology can be leveraged to solve complex business problems.
· He/she will work across teams of solutions architects, enterprise architects and technical delivery teams in highly collaborative, dynamic, and fast paced environment.
· He/She should be comfortable working with minimal direction for extended periods, as well as assisting other team members to accomplish delivery success This is a hand on role and will be responsible for overall architecture, high level design, coordinating detailed design and development efforts
Core job responsibilities:
· Solution Architecture: Lead the development of architectures for complex systems with Microservices /API first mindset ensuring consistency with specified requirements agreed with both external and internal customers while balancing between functional, service quality and systems management needs. Ensure that appropriate standards (corporate, industry, national and international) are adhered to.
· Lead technical discoveries and innovation proofs of concept. Develop artifacts to be used be used in downstream SDLC phases for agile teams
· Collaborate with group of architects to help drive the vision and direction for Ulta digital commerce applications. In addition to creating working prototypes also be responsible for building out the foundational application architecture / framework code and do complex development when necessary.
· Leads the development of non-functional and technical requirements.
· Supports project manager/scrum master activities to ensure that resources, risk recognition, and planning stay aligned with the solution goals.
