Devops Engineer
Location: Sunnyvale, CA
Duration: Ongoing contract w/ quarterly renewals
Interview: Phone then Onsite (or Skype if non-local)
Experience: 5-10 years
We are looking for DevOps Engineers to support rapid growth and expansion with our client. The DevOps Engineer will be key part of the Infrastructure Engineering team with a broad impact across product and customer experiences. As the DevOps Engineer your responsibilities will include:
* Gathering requirements, build infrastructure and tooling to support product initiatives.
* Be a conduit for technical expertise in liaising with external client partners.
* Provide technical guidance, solving expertise, and architectural insight to development, quality, and site reliability teams.
* Solve complex problems using both open-source and in-house tooling to support security and business initiatives.
* Build applications and tools to reduce barriers, decrease friction and speed up delivery of products.
* Scale existing technologies (or promote new technologies) to out-pace current growth projections.
* Evangelize next generation cloud and DevOps products and processes, experiment with their implementation and bring them to fruition.
Required Skills / Experience:
* In depth knowledge of: Kubernetes, Docker, AWS. Ability to write Dockerfiles and Kubernetes yaml definitions from scratch.
* Well versed in Linux compute, networking, storage, and DB''s (SQL and NoSQL
* Expert in Ansible. Should be able to write automation playbooks for Ansible.
* In depth knowledge of Jenkins including Jenkins plugins, and pipeline as code (Groovy
* In depth knowledge of GitHub, Maven, Gradle.
* Excellent scripting skills in Python
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work closely with Dev, QA, and SRE teams.
Preferred
* Experience with Spinnaker highly desirable.
* Experience with the HashiCorp stack - Nomad, Consul, Vault is a plus.
* Comfortable working with large-scale multi-cloud deployments.
* Understanding the security and compliance aspects of DevOps.
* Strong ability and enthusiasm to learn new technologies in a short time.
Education
BS degree in computer science or equivalent field with 6+ years or MS degree with 4+ years’ experience, or equivalent.
