DevOps Architect w/ Kubernetes Plano, TX Long-term Contract Responsibilities: Should be Hands On architect to be able to work, independently. Should be able to design and develop utilities or tools to be reused. Provide architecture & technology leadership for building and deploying applications across multiple public clouds. Lead architecture for platform modernization including adoption of containerization in cloud and at edge locations. Develop & evangelize best practices for DevOps & CI/CD, API Management, Networking. Guide organization towards self-service DevOps model, Zero Downtime Blue/Green/Canary Deployments. Should be able to debug any issues and provide technical help to the developers on utilities or common components. Build strategies to automate test, security, performance measurements in CI pipelines. Develop & evangelize the reference architecture & patterns that will be used across the organization to enable standardized cloud solutions. Work on high availability and disaster recovery strategies guiding the organization with multi-region and multi-cloud deployments. Provide technical oversight to the development process including reviewing the technical design and the deployment architecture. Lead the build vs buy discussion when it comes to choosing the tools & platforms. Identify and introduce new technologies, patterns that can elevate the platform across the enterprise. Mentor solution architects and technical leads to help build effective engineering practices. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering and 8 years of experience OR Master's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering and 5 years of experience. 10 years of experience in software architecture & design. At least 5 years of experience in cloud services architecture, technical design, and implementations including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS Experience in cloud computing application implementations on AWS is a required Strong background in creating secure cloud architectures for customer facing applications that are enterprise grade and highly scalable. Experience with build-time dependency management (e.g. Ant, Maven); unit testing and code- coverage tools; test automation techniques and tools; and build automation tools (e.g. Jenkins,) tools are required. Excellent understanding of containerization, Docker & Kubernetes is required. Experience with open source CI/CD tools for multi-cloud deployments like Ansible, Terraform, Helm, Spinnaker a plus. Excellent understanding of micro-services architecture, design patterns, and standard methodologies with an eye towards scale, automation, resiliency, high availability, and disaster recovery. Excellent understanding of networking, load balancing, security, config, and certificate management. Excellent understanding of Kafka and different integration and middleware tools. Good understanding of architectural principles involved in SaaS and multi-tenant platforms.
