Responsibilities

Design for high availability and maximum performance; ensure 24x7 availability.

Provide production & test DB2 support in complex environments.

Perform DBA functions: SQL code reviews, performance monitoring & tuning, enforcing DB2 security, DSNZPARM management, stored procedures, triggers, referential integrity, DB2 Connect configuration, and service/change request resolution.

Provide 24x7 on-call support; coordinate technical decisions with team & management.

Handle backup/recovery strategies and Disaster Recovery planning.
-
Collaborate with Data Center, Operations, Database, and Development teams for database performance & tuning.

Work with management on project schedules.
Required Skills
-
DB2 attachments/interfaces: DRDA, DB2 Connect.
-
DB2 Tools: IBM Data Studio, Administration Tool, Automation Tool, Explain, Query Monitor, OPTIM Workload Query Tuner, File Manager, Tivoli OMEGAMON, QMF.
-
z/OS Mainframe Skills: TSO & ISPF, JCL, DFSORT/ICETOOL, REXX, z/OS Utilities.
Experience (10+ years in each)

DB2 z/OS Database Support (DB2 12 or higher in high-transaction production).

High-availability 24x7 designs; managing large data stores.

DB2 V10 utilities setup & execution.

DB2 performance & tuning.

Logical & physical Data Modeling.
-
Complex SQL coding/tuning.
-
Data Warehouse & OLAP design/query solutions.
-
Extensive use of DB2 tools listed above.
Desired Skills

Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and workflow management skills.

DB2 V9 or V10 Certification.

IMS Database & Utilities (IBM, BMC, NEON).

ETL tools experience (InfoSphere, Informatica).
