Job Description :
We are seeking a full-time contractor or employee for a Database Architect role.
Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a Database Architect on the Data Governance team, overseeing multiple projects
  • Document existing schemas, data interfaces, and downstream impacts in SQL Server and Oracle databases
  • Analyze data extraction processes for reporting
  • Develop and engineer data models in AWS SQL Server
  • Define and document the technical architecture for the new system
  • Lead data migration and conversion efforts, creating scripts for smooth transitions
  • Perform analysis and documentation to support the migration project and maintain operations

Required Skills:
  • Experience in a Database Architect role
  • Data modeling expertise in SQL Server Enterprise Edition
  • Strong background in analyzing and generating technical requirements and designs
  • Proven ability to create and maintain data models
  • Experience in database development using RDBMS
  • Design experience with SQL Server databases for high-usage, high-availability transactional systems
  • Knowledge of database tuning techniques
  • Experience analyzing source databases, source data, referential integrity, and profiling data
  • Familiarity with data mining and archiving techniques
  • Proficient with MS SQL Server DBMS
  • Experience managing RDBMS in AWS or Microsoft Azure
  • Ability to create source-to-target mapping database documentation
  • Experience assisting with migrating data from legacy databases to new target systems

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with multiple RDBMS (DB2, SQL Server, Oracle)
  • Experience with case management or educational systems, specifically with the State of Texas
  • Familiarity with REST API Services
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Prior experience with the Texas Workforce Commission
