About the Role We're looking for an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) who can manage, optimize, and secure mission-critical database environments. The ideal candidate has deep hands-on experience with database performance tuning, high availability, backup strategies, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations across large-scale enterprise systems.
You'll work closely with engineering, DevOps, infrastructure, and application teams to support database planning, upgrades, monitoring, and troubleshooting. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys solving complex data problems, improving system performance, and contributing to long-term database strategy.
Responsibilities -
Install, configure, and maintain SQL and NoSQL database systems in production and staging environments.

Monitor database performance and proactively identify optimization opportunities.

Implement database security controls, user access management, and encryption policies.

Manage database backup and recovery processes and ensure disaster recovery readiness.

Handle database replication, clustering, and high-availability environments.

Perform schema design, data modeling, capacity planning, and storage optimization.

Troubleshoot complex issues related to query performance, locking, deadlocks, and connectivity.

Support database patching, version upgrades, and regular maintenance activities.

Automate administrative tasks with scripting languages like PowerShell, Python, or Bash.

Collaborate with application developers and DevOps teams to enhance database reliability.

Create and maintain accurate technical documentation and operational manuals.
Required Skills & Experience -
12+ years of professional experience as a Database Administrator.

Strong expertise in MS SQL Server / Oracle / PostgreSQL / MySQL / MongoDB (as applicable).

Proven experience in performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies.

Solid understanding of backup plans, restore procedures, HA & DR configurations (AlwaysOn, RAC, Clustering, Replication).

Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and managed database services.

Familiarity with Linux/Windows servers, shell scripting, and automation tools.

Knowledge of data security, auditing, compliance, and best practices.

Strong problem-solving and communication skills with ability to support cross-functional teams.
Nice to Have -
Experience with database monitoring tools like SolarWinds, Dynatrace, New Relic, Grafana, Prometheus, etc.

Exposure to DevOps pipelines, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, etc.).

Knowledge of data warehousing and ETL pipelines.
