Job Title:Data Solution Architect Location:NYC NY Duration: Contract Job Description: Implement and maintain database security, create and maintain users/roles, and assign privileges. Capacity planning for growth to support current and future needs. Identify key thresholds and bottle necks which could impact system performance. Optimize and performance tune queries. Establish and maintain sound backup and disaster recovery policies and procedures. Prepare detailed ETL specifications to design, code and test all SQL/BTEQ scripts and utilities. Database design modeling and implementation to meet business objectives and the needs of BI/application enhancements and other project deliverables. Project planning, estimating, approach definition and implementation planning. Identify and recommend alternative solutions. Maintain awareness of new developments in industry and processes. Establish quality processes and standards to deliver stable and reliable solutions. Participate in after-hours support rotation and perform duties in the data centers to support system upgrades or hardware problem resolutions. Ability to install, configure and upgrade Teradata server hardware, software, and related products. Contribute to the data/analytics future roadmap, inclusive of a migration/design/build/launch of a cloud-based data warehouse. Work closely with BI team conduct any data model, data profiling, or database design & development changes required to support BI projects. Minimum 5-7 years' experience as a DBA or similar role working with Teradata databases. Expertise in handling and understanding data in a digitally-driven retail business, specifically with CRM/CDP/customer data & web/clickstream data (A e Analytics, Google Analytics), is strongly preferred. Teradata Certified Master certification a plus. UNIX shell scripting, Teradata utilities experience required. Demonstrate strong knowledge of BI and data warehousing design principles and industry best practices. Understanding of real time streaming and storage data solutions (Spark, EMR, Presto,Kafka, S3 Understanding of Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and other cloud-based data product suites. Previous cloud DW migration/design/build/launch experience a plus. Experience with leading BI tools such as MicroStrategy a plus. Experience with leading ETL/ELT tools such as Informatica a plus. Experience with leading ESB/API tools such as Mulesoft a plus. System administration for AIX, Linux SuSe, and NCR MPRAS a plus. MS/SQL Server, Oracle database knowledge a plus Windows developer experience a plus. C++, Java, VB, or .NET coding a plus. Control-M job automation tool experience preferred. Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent course work/job experience.
