Data Governance – Metadata Profiling Analyst
We are seeking a motivated Metadata Profiling Analyst to join our Data Governance team. In this role, you will work directly with AT&T application owners to gather, analyze, and profile metadata for onboarding into an enterprise metadata management platform. This position requires strong SQL skills, excellent communication abilities, and a detail-oriented approach to ensuring metadata accuracy and compliance with governance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with AT&T application owners to collect, understand, and profile metadata for integration into the enterprise metadata management platform
- Analyze metadata structures and ensure alignment with Data Governance policies and platform requirements
- Use SQL to run queries for data extraction, validation, and troubleshooting during metadata profiling
- Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve issues
- Document metadata profiling activities, onboarding steps, and data quality findings
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Data Governance team to enhance metadata quality and consistency
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Data Management, or related field
- Strong SQL skills, including writing and optimizing queries.
- Good knowledge of metadata concepts, structures, and governance practices
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills
- Ability to analyze complex datasets and identify data quality issues
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the telecom industry is a plus
- Familiarity with data lineage, data modeling, or ETL processes
- Knowledge of enterprise application ecosystems and governance frameworks
