Role: Data Center Operations Engineer
Location: Naperville, IL, and Dallas, TX (Onsite)
Description
Data Center Operations Engineer
• Perform operational support and maintenance of the core Hosting network infrastructure: Switches (Client, Nokia, Dell, FortiGate), Load Balancers (F5), Routers (Nokia), and Network Visibility (SolarWinds), Servers (Client).
• Maintain the complete product life cycle of network equipment and services.
• Support engineering and hosting projects.
• Participating with installations and documenting and enforcing network standards.
• Develop and maintain network topology, solution, and network-flow diagrams.
• Assist with maximizing network performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages.
• Secure network systems by implementing security controls and establishing and enforcing policies; defining and monitoring access.
• Provide on-call 24x7 support when required.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, or a related field, or equivalent in experience and expertise
• Must have experience working with F5 load balancers and the capability to provide expert support and operation of the Client, Nokia, Dell, FortiGate firewalls/switches we have in place
• Experience with network routing, firewall rules, network switching
• Proven ability to solve problems creatively
• Excellent analytical skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and extremely resourceful
• Public cloud (AWS) and SaaS experience
• Excellent customer focus and customer handling skills
