Title : Data Architect

Location: Bay area preferred, then Austin, anywhere in the US This one needs clarity if it is onsite/ remote/ hybrid WILL UPDATE

Duration : 6 months (possible extension)

Experience Summary

  • Minimum 10 years of recent experience in database development, relational databases, data lakes, data analytics solutions and data warehousing, including cloud-native databases and modern cloud-based data warehouse systems.

Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience on Oracle SQL and PL/SQL (Or other leading RDBMS such as MySQL or SQL Server), data modeling, and design.
  • Hands on design and development experience in multiple Data Warehousing, Data Lake & Analytics Platforms: Microsoft data and analytics platform (Azure Data Factory, Microsoft SQL Server, Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, etc.); Google Cloud Platform (Data Proc, BigQuery) Data storage and analysis toolsets, including modern distributed technologies such as SparkSQL, Hadoop, Presto, Hive, Kafka, Cassandra, Redshift or other equivalent solutions.
  • Solid understanding of data architecture, standards and data governance in relational and non-relational databases
  • Hands-on experience using one or more scripting languages (e.g., Python, bash, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of data lake house reference architectures and common data processing architectures (Lambda, Kappa)
  • Solid understanding of data architecture, standards and data governance in relational and non-relational databases
  • Experience with Data visualization tools such as Tableau and PowerBI is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of ETL/ELT/data pipeline development, using industry-standard tools such as Talend.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and written/verbal communication skills with the ability to document and communicate technical information to IT Leadership, the business, developers and support staff

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
