Top Skills & Years of Experience:

• Experience as a data architect or an architect leading complex technology solutions (includes data modeling) – 5 years

• Experience defining and implementing data architecture for cloud solutions
This position is responsible for providing leadership in data architecture and modeling for a multi-year, multi-phase modernization effort and other critical agency needs. The data architecture system components include database management systems (both internal and external), master data management, and a data lake platform. This position will also contribute toward data governance and data quality improvements.
Key Job Responsibilities
• Define data architecture, including how data flows between systems, how it is used by different areas of the agency, and challenges
• Work with key business partners, technical staff, and vendors to understand what data will be collected by new systems and provide recommendations on how the data will flow through systems with consideration for a phased implementation
• Evaluate and recommend the appropriate database technologies, tools, and platforms to optimize data storage, retrieval, and management
• Provide leadership for data integration and migration strategies to ensure smooth transitions between systems and platforms
• Contribute to data governance policies and procedures to ensure data accuracy, security, and compliance with relevant regulations
