Position: Data Analyst

Location: Austin, TX

Duration: 12 months+


As a Senior Data Analyst with our Data Acquisition team, you will be working with clients to establish access to their networks and then design, develop, and implement data extraction and automation code. Your work will enable secure transfer of data from Electronic Medical Records, Billing, Adjudicated Claims, and other medical group sources; that data is then aggregated, analyzed and shared back with the provider clients with actionable insights included, enabling our clients to make healthcare better.

The ideal candidate has a strong entrepreneurial spirit and an aptitude for learning new technologies and skills. The role will require deep, hands-on technical skills in designing, developing and implementing data extraction, transmission, and automation processes to support scalability and performance. You will have the ability to advise clients and internal stakeholders and will be a key member of the delivery team.

Primary Responsibilities:

In this role you will own data extraction, transmission, automation, and integration improvement projects from the data analytics perspective. Collaborate with clients to stand up servers for data extraction and automation

Communicate directly with clients (from technical to executive level) to resolve complicated data issues.

Conduct gap analysis to compare the clients data structure and content to that of the standard expected for that EMR, billing, or adjudicated claims data source.

Develop Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) code, primarily in SQL and PowerShell, but also in JavaScript, Cerner Command Language (CCL), Spark SQL, and other technologies.

Work with other functional teams including marketing, development, client services, and product management to improve client satisfaction across multiple dimensions. Master the functionality of the business intelligence tool and develop expertise in product solution

Required Qualifications:

4 years hands on experience writing healthcare extraction, transformation, and/or loading queries for a healthcare-related source system (including but not limited to eClinicalWorks/eCW, Cerner, GE, Allscripts, Meditech, and McKesson)
Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) to facilitate collaboration across teams
Ability to work with a dispersed team across time zones (and supporting US Eastern Timezone)


Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in a healthcare vertical
Experience creating written collateral to ensure operational success or for training purposes (training guides, standard operating procedures, product documentation)
Experience programming, preferably with JavaScript, Java, Python
Experience working as a key team member or in a technical lead capacity in a large-scale, cross-functional project
Demonstrable history of using analytical reasoning, quantitative analysis, and creativity to solve challenging problems
Technical aptitude for learning new technologies
Experience with AWS
Experience with data streaming, automation and scripting, including PowerShell, batch scripting
Experience with Splunk
Experience with Mirth Connect or other Integration Engine
