Role: Data Analyst

Job Requisites:
Mid to senior level- 6+ years at least.
Python is most important- must be strong in coding, scripting

Project Background:
They have a large backlog of work to get through: everything from handling some compliance governance stuff all the way up to enhancements that they want to get into their space that they have to work through. The push to get extra optimization in their space is a big project that will be spread across several of these sub teams
Will be joining anti money laundering team (AML
They are working on bank, card, and various cap one businesses. Typically they have sub teams so one focused on auto loans or bank so they will be plugged into an existing team with business analysts, risk analysts in a certain line of business. They’ll be split across several sub teams. Each individual will be assigned to a separate sub team.
The work is a mix of ad hoc, data analysis, and understanding new sources of data since they will be analyzing models and why it’s working a certain way.

Skills:
Need to be very technically strong folks.
Write and execute scripts in python. They maintain for in house developed python packages that are the core to their model framework
SQL, UNIX, Github
basic AWS knowledge is nice to have. It’s all used through internally built client tools
troubleshoot python code and errors, validating changes in a code output, why a result changed as a result of a different code. Lots of model validations. Researching and understanding data as part of the requirements
Creating unit tests, functional tests, effectively combining their code
Strong communication- both written and verbal. They will sometimes have to contribute to memos to close out audit items
Daily updates are given verbally in a stand up setting- Agile
Ability to work independently but also work on a team. These are cross functional teams with different teams and risk managers. Working with groups to solve complex AML problems. Pairing folks with data skills and money laundering experience
3-5 year of coding experience will be valuable

Must haves:
Python- especially Python Scripting
Object oriented
Being able to troubleshoot the python code
SQL experience
Communication and work style- independently and being able to fit into their team culture

Nice to haves:
Github
AWS
Experience validating code changes
Researching new data sets
