Job Description:

• Responsible for reigniting DIRECTV’s social content strategy and creative services function, managing owned channel digital storytelling, developing bespoke creative and engagement campaigns, and optimizing distribution strategies.

• Lead Editor, managing seven direct reports while overseeing the nose to tail editorial process inclusive of strategy, ideation, development, mapping, cross-functional approvals, versioning, distribution, and measurement.

o Direct reports will include content strategists, analysts, and designers.

o Keeps tabs on the in-the-weeds social content process in partnership with the Editorial Planner.

o Works closely with the Social Governance team, supporting DIRECTV’s Social Alert and Reputational Awareness program (i.e. social flags) as well as brand safety protection measures.

o Works closely with the SEO team to incorporate SEO best practices.

o Works closely with blog team in support of creating seamless customer journey from social to corresponding blog.

o Ensures content planner is being built out inclusive of varying priorities (business vs. sports vs. brand), product integrations, asset types (key art, style guides, promotional and mass campaigns, episodic mini-series, etc.), past performance data and customizing copy/asset to each unique platform.

o Works closely with Brand Strategy team (Pat White) to provide strategic digital recommendations that elevate ongoing brand partnerships.

• Works hand-in-hand with the Director of Brand Execution & Measurement (Lar Hovsepian) to report out on content strategies and content performance in support of both organic traffic and brand goals.

• Develops and leads an enterprise-wide planning team (i.e. Creative Collective) focused on cross-functional synergy and collaboration, while acting as the ongoing connective tissue between social, reporting, governance, brand, PR, internal communications, partnerships, off-handle, and advertising stakeholders to ensure holistic 360-degree messaging across all communications verticals.

• Manages and maintains channel playbooks and platform-specific strategies, while translating and continuously educating senior leadership on the value of upper funnel, organic social media in order to increase brand consideration and reputation as well as future purchasing decisions.

o Utilizes channel playbooks, measurement reads outs and adjusted business priorities/re-orgs/team bandwidth to inform content decisions.

• Pivots between long-term planning and short-term trends, fire drills, etc.

1) Building relationships with internal clients to encourage new and repeat business opportunities.

2) All client communications, conflict resolution, and compliance on client deliverables and revenue.

3) Reviews all major deliverables (i.e. strategic brief, function spec, tech spec, etc.) to ensure quality standards and client expectations are met.

4) Ensure that client issues are dealt with in an efficient manner.

5) Work closely with the project team in order to maintain a continuous knowledge of project status in order to identify potential issues and/or opportunities within or related to the project.

6) Ensure that all processes and procedures are completed, quality standards are met, and that projects are profitable.

7) Communicate the client's goals and represent the client's interests to the team.

8) Provide regular two-way communication between the client and team, to provide strong team representation and set proper client expectations.

9) Understanding of department capabilities and service, and effectively communicates all offerings to the client.

10) Receptive to client feedback and recommendations.

11) Keep a positive attitude when dealing with heated situations to help diffuse the crisis in an expedient, professional manner.

12) Able to troubleshoot situations and deal with any unique situations that may arise.
