Job Description :
Title : Commvault Backup L3 resource
Location : Racine, WI
Essential Skills:
- Strong knowledge on HANA backups and restores.
- Experience on In-place and out of place restorations of SAP HANA DB
and Logs
- Experience in performing the restore from HANA backups
- Experience on Multi-tenant , Scale out and Scale in models of SAP HANA
backups and restores
- IP Network, WAN and LAN free (SAN) based data backup design and
configurations.
- Data protection and Backup recovery solutions, such as using virtual
tape, disk to disk and data replication
- Configure, maintain and troubleshoot database backups Oracle, SQL,
SAP and Exchange
- Produce regular reports for management to assist in cost recovery,
Capacity planning and consolidations
- Plan for Media rotation management and Offsite movement
- Scheduling of new Backups and modify existing jobs
- Perform restores backup and monitoring and reporting tool installations
- Troubleshoot backup failures
- Planning contribution to Disaster Recovery with Commvault for Windows
and Unix platforms
- Handle issues related to Commvault catalogue databases, storage units,
policies, De-duplication etc
- Very strong working knowledge of Commvault required
- Thorough understanding of Commvault policy-drive backup/restore
architecture and Best practices required
- Well versed with Configuring and maintaining COMMserve, media agents
and clients
- Competent in configuring storage policies and copies for Deduplicated
disks and Tape libraries
- Competent in configuring schedules and schedule policies and data
management and administrative functions
- Competent in installations and configuration of non deduplicated and
deduplication media agents in small and extra-large environments
- Knowledge in TCP/IP and SAN technologies
- Knowledge in Commvault Firewall configurations and deployment issues
- Competent in resolving file and system level restore requests
- Commvault Auditing, Command line operations, logging and reporting
features
- Implement Commvault Deduplication
- Assisting in customer escalations
- RUBRIK is added advantage.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with IT Service Management Tools.
- Knowledge of Monitoring tools.
- Ticketing tool exposure (Cherwell)
- Knowledge of ITIL Processes.
- Project implementation, design and decommissioning documentation.
Create and update documentation including daily backup reports.
