Cloud Automation Engineers will work across infrastructure, operations, security, and development teams to analyze and optimize workflows, reduce client sign-to-live time, and automate the lifecycle management of solutions while incorporating hosting best practices.
Responsibilities
*
Design and develop private and public cloud automation and orchestration for SaaS, IaaS, and PaaS environments
*
Work collaboratively with product managers, enterprise architecture, development, and operations to understand requirements and translate design specifications for automated solutions.
*
Engage with application engineering teams to understand the application architecture and future roadmap
*
Engage with infrastructure, network and security teams to understand the current architectures and future roadmap
*
Research, present and develop proof-of-concepts on innovative technology solutions for current or future opportunities
*
Demonstrate and/or communication periodic progress to stakeholders, management and executives
*
Evangelize and enable others to adopt automated process in adherence to Plexus Clouds automation framework.
*
Maintain and improve CI/CD infrastructure and pipelines to rapidly delivery solutions.
*
Working proficiency in development toolsets
*
Measure automation activities with metrics, develop dashboards and monitoring within our platform.
*
Drive issue resolution and root cause identification with Cloud and Engineering teams.
Requirements:
*
2-3 years working with Windows or Linux operating systems
*
Working knowledge of one or more of the following scripting languages
*
Python
*
Ruby
*
Bash
*
PowerShell
*
Experience with Object Oriented Programming
*
Experience with source control systems such as Git
*
Experience with database technologies
*
Network configuration and security
*
Ability to debug, optimize and automation routine tasks.
Preferred:

Experience with relational and/or document databases.

Ability to create, manage jobs within CI/CD technologies such as Jenkins, TeamCity, Travis CI
*
Experience deploying and configuring VMs in a VMware based environments using PowerCLI
*
Experience with firewall and load balancer technologies such as Checkpoint, Palo Alto, Cisco, F5
*
Experience designing and developing processes that leverage both SOAP and REST API services
*
Experience with tools such as SOAP UI, ReadyAPI, Postman, Curl to interact with HTTP based services.

Working knowledge of hierarchical data formats (JSON, XML, YAML, etc
*
Experience with Infrastructure as Code solutions such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible, SaltStack
*
Monitoring and observability experience (Grafana, Graphite , ELK Stack, Splunk, Graylog…etc)
*
Containerization experience (Docker)
