Role Overview

The Business Analyst role is a position within the Service Operations Center that will focus on improving the success within a business function by analyzing data, discovering and solving real-world problems, and building metrics and business cases to improve end-user experience with our service desk chat technologies.

Primary responsibilities include acting as a liaison between IT and business functions to analyze complex business problems and provide technical solutions. A key component of the role is to identify process and system improvement opportunities by monitoring existing metrics, analyzing data, and partnering with internal teams. In addition, you will design and develop automated reporting solutions to enable stakeholders to manage the business and make effective decisions.
The person in this position is required to work in a team environment, under limited supervision and reports to the Service Operations Center Manager.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Actively try to identify areas of improvement and conceptualize methods on how to be more efficient
Perform rigorous analyses on large, complex data sets and provide strategic insights, based upon findings to non-technical stakeholders
Define business and technical requirements based on business problems.
Performing requirement gathering sessions to gather information from stakeholders.
Gather the requirements from the partners, translate them into technical requirements, understand the underlying data, and build upon aggregates.
Perform GAP analysis to determine if business requirements are being met
Collaborating proactively with business stakeholders to analyze information needs and requirements and successfully deliver dashboards, visualizations and ad-hoc reports on time-based on business prioritization
Collaborate with business stakeholders on how they can execute their strategies successfully using data
Build and maintain clean, reliable, and scalable dashboards
Use of requirements to drive the design or review of test cases and process change requests
Build powerful visuals that tell the business story
Develop customized business strategies that are aligned with corporate strategic objectives.

Requirements
2+ years of work experience, prior data analytics or consulting experience a plus
1+ years of work experience in the technology sector
Familiar with a range of data science concepts (such as natural language processing, content similarity analysis, social network analysis, and sentiment analysis)
Advance knowledge of BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau
Experience with Excel advanced formula creation, data cleaning, pivot tables, and other necessary functions
Experience with SQL a plus
Experience working on technical project groups
Strong data skills, with an understanding of how to apply data to communications and business strategy problems
Excellent communication skills: verbal, written, slide & data presentations, and participating in working meetings
Excellent problem-framing, problem-solving and project management skills, willingness to be flexible and adapt to change
Ability to self-start and self-direct work in an unstructured environment, comfortable dealing with ambiguity
