Cloud Efficiency Business Analyst
Location is Utah - Lehi
The Cloud Efficiency team is part of A e’s Cloud Technology group, which provides fundamental capabilities that power the Creative Cloud, Document Cloud and Experience Cloud products. The team’s charter is helping our internal customers understand, control and allocate their cloud costs. A e spends millions of dollars each month with third party cloud providers and we are looking to add another rock star as we scale with the needs of the business.
The Business Analyst will be working with a variety of A e stakeholders, including product teams, Finance, and others, to support cloud vendor cost management. Effectively partnering with these groups will allow them to improve efficiencies and save money. The analyst will also be able to build reports, discover trends, and reply to questions that teams have. The right candidate will have a direct impact on driving cost down across the business.
In addition to the day to day activities, you will also work with engineers on the team to develop better ways to collect, summarize and publish data that is actionable.
What you’ll do
You will work on the team that centrally analyzes cloud provider (AWS and Azure) consumption trends and purchases long term contracts (i.e., Amazon Web Services EC2 Reserved Instances) to reduce costs
Partner with A e product teams, Finance, and other stakeholders on analytical needs regarding public cloud provider cost and usage
Meet regularly with technical teams to understand their growth and usage trends
Build financial proposals, analyze cost savings opportunities, and set key performance indicators
Develop and document processes that ensure consistency and continual improvement
Create reports that are actionable and provide insight
Data mining and exploratory analysis to surface hidden insights
Develop tools and processes to validate large data sets
Provide guidance on feature changes and enhancements to the team’s reporting platform
Ad hoc analysis and projects as needed
What you need to succeed
Proven ability to work with large data sets and think analytically
Proven intermediate-to-advanced skills with Microsoft Excel including, but not limited to, mastery of pivot tables
Strong character, work ethic and high attention to detail
Ability to work as a team player and being able to recognize success as a team
Self-starter, motivated, outgoing and able to work productively with others
Knowledge of cloud providers is preferred
Proficiency with Tableau, PowerBI and/or other reporting tools is preferred
Ability to query databases using SQL is preferred
Program or Product Management skills
