Job Description :
Our Direct Client ITS Department is seeking to employ the services of an experienced Business Analyst on a temporary basis. The duration of this assignment will not exceed twelve (12) months. The Business Analyst will be responsible for, including but not limited to, the following:
1. Support the ITS department’s activities to effectively perform detailed requirements analysis, documenting processes, and some user acceptance testing in support of the Clients’s legacy applications.
2. Analyze, define and document requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, interfaces with other systems, internal and external checks and controls, and reporting. Working with Information Technology staff to ensure that application security meets the business needs and security requirements.
3. Translate and breakdown requests into the specifications that are ready to be used by the development team.
4. Document the business and technical requirements in a consistent manner.
5. As appropriate, review and suggest business process improvements as part of the project implementation.
6. Fill the “Product Owner/Manager” role on the Agile Development team.
7. Define feature lists, use cases (stories), acceptance criteria, user flows, user personas and other artifacts in support of the product development efforts.
8. Perform ongoing product backlog maintenance, prioritization, and resolution of defects/bugs.
9. Work with the Business Solution Analyst to manage timeline and delivery expectations.
10. Collaborate with Business Solution Analyst, business and technical staff to plan and organize projects delivery to ensure projects are conceived, designed, planned, tested and executed
effectively.
11. Conduct and participate in user story and acceptance criteria reviews with Business Solution Analyst, Developer and QA/QC Analyst.
12. Collaborate with project teams and key stakeholders to assess the needs of “buy-or-build” systems.
13. Participate in project meetings to communicate status of requirement gathering, facilitate meetings to gather requirements and make presentations to key stakeholders.
14. Identify risks and provide recommendations to mitigate and/or eliminate risk.
15. Interface with ITS teams and contribute in a fast paced, integrated team environment.
Education and Experience Requirements
The Business Analyst must meet the following requirements:
5+ years in business analysis experience with projects of various sizes and complexity, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Bachelor’s degree in Business or Information Technology.
Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
Solid understanding of business analysis skills, tools, techniques, and formal BA methodologies; thorough understanding how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into
application and operational requirements.
The ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions.
Demonstrated knowledge of the entire Software Development Lifecycle and/or the Agile Software Development Methodology.
Experience writing clear and concise user stories and acceptance criteria that effectively
communicate product requirements to an agile development team.
Understanding of and experience with SharePoint (2010/2013/2016) is preferred.
Self-motivated and focused, with a positive outlook and excellent organizational skills.
Ability to effectively work and interact professionally within a diverse and inclusive environment; ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of managers and subject matter experts.
Proven capacity to function independently and as part of a service-oriented team are required.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Ability to understand and carry out complex instructions, prepare and maintain complex records and files.
Discretion in handling confidential/sensitive information.
CCBA, PMI-PBA or other related certification, and experience working in a government sector environment are preferred.
Experience with using Axure for mock-ups and Microsoft TFS for managing product backlog and sprints is preferred.
