Job Description :
We are seeking a full-time contractor or employee for a Business Analyst role.
This role involves advanced business analysis and active participation in the planning and implementation of data governance tools for the DSHS agency. The contractor will support data collection efforts, identify data assets from various sources, complete setup templates, and assist in the overall implementation of metadata management and data governance processes. Additionally, the contractor will analyze business systems and processes to establish an effective operational metadata management framework.
Responsibilities:
  • Proven experience as a Senior Business Analyst (Technical).
  • Strong background in enterprise data analytics, integration, and management, with experience working with data warehouses and data governance technologies.
  • Experience with Informatica Data Governance tools is preferred, including:
    • Axon Data Governance
    • Enterprise Data Catalog
    • Data Quality
  • Experience using Jira for task and project management.
  • Proficiency with Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau, Power BI, etc.
  • Expertise in analyzing raw data using Excel, Tableau, Power BI, and similar tools.
  • Familiarity with the Texas Data Management Framework.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in cross-functional, collaborative teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present information to diverse audiences effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills.
  • Capacity to adapt to changing priorities and respond to evolving situations.
  • Analytical skills for interpreting technical information, regulations, and policies.
  • Proficient in creating process flows and data flow diagrams.
  • Serve as a liaison between project stakeholders, IT teams, and program stakeholders.
  • Summarize information for leadership and stakeholder reporting.
  • Conduct design meetings, facilitate metadata modeling discussions, and prepare slide decks for project reviews and status updates.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure successful project delivery.
  • Design and implement data acquisition strategies and solutions as needed.
  • Exercise initiative and independent judgment with limited supervision.
  • Demonstrate creativity and adaptability in achieving project goals.
  • Experience working under limited supervision with significant latitude for independent decision-making.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills to manage diverse project requirements effectively.
Required Skills:
  • Experience in the field or in a related area as a senior Business Analyst (Technical).
  • Experience with enterprise data analytics, integration, and management, working with data warehouse and data governance technologies

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience as a Business analyst analyzing raw data using Excel or with Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau, Power BI.
  • Designs and implements data acquisition strategies and solutions as needed
