Brown Brothers Harriman is seeking a Big Data Consultant to help with the development of a new Data platform. BBH’s Data platform serves as the foundation for a key set of offerings running on Oracle Exadata and Cloudera39;s distribution
u>Key Responsibilities Include:/u>
ul>
li>Document and develop ETL logic and data flows to facilitate the easy usage of data assets, both batch and real-time streaming/li>
li>Leverage the following (but not limited to) components of Cloudera distribution to achieve project objectives/li>
li>Consistent practice in coding and unit testing/li>
li>Work with distributed teams/li>
/ul>
u>Qualifications for your role would include:/u>
ul>
li>Bachelor39;s degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent experience/li>
li>8+ years of experience in an IT, preliminary on hands on development/li>
li>Strong knowledge of architectural principles, frameworks, design patterns and industry best practices for design and development./li>
li>Strong hands on experience with programming languages - Java, Scala or Python/li>
li>4+ years’ real project experience as a data wrangler/engineer across design, development, testing, and production implementation for Big Data projects, processing large volumes of structured/unstructured data/li>
li>Strong hands on experience with Spark/li>
li>Strong hands on experience with Kafka/li>
li>Experience with Oracle PL/SQL/li>
li>Experience in designing efficient and robust ETL/ELT workflows and schedulers/li>
li>Experience working with Git, Jira, and Agile methodologies/li>
li>End-to-end development life-cycle support and SDLC processes/li>
li>Communication skills – both written and verbal/li>
li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills/li>
li>Self-driven, work in teams and independently if required/li>
/ul>
u>Nice To Have:/u>
ul>
li>Knowledge of Machine Learning libraries and exposure to Data Mining/li>
li>Working experience in a Financial industry is a plus
