Big Data / Kafka Administrator - Senior- Austin,TX Description/Qualifications/Additional Information: Person will be responsible to work as part of 24x7 shifts (US hours) to provide Support and Perform Administration on Kafka, Spark and Hadoop clusters. Job Description Job Duties and Responsibilities : * Managing and administering the overall Kafka infrastructure. * Monitor Kafka cluster connectivity and security. * Manage and review Kafka log files. * Collaborating with application teams to install operating system and Kafka updates, patches, and version upgrades when required. * User security management of the Kafka cluster. * Implement security standards for the cluster and Kafka services such as TLS for wire encryption. * Support of Kafka integrations, including topics, producers, consumers, Schema Registry, Kafka Control Center, KSQL, and streaming applications. * Monitor performance, identify bottlenecks and tune to optimize Kafka performance and throughput. * Takes care of the day-to-day running of Kafka clusters. Job Qualifications: * Bachelor degree in computer or related field * 5+ years in Big Data Stack with minimum 2 years experience in Kafka and Spark * Strong Technical Knowledge on Hadoop Eco System such as YARN, MapReduce, HDFS, HBase, Zookeeper, Pig and Hive is plus * Understanding of the Kafka components and zookeeper. * Strong Linux knowledge (Red Hat Enterprise * Knowledge of configuration management tools such as ansible. * Good understanding of Streaming message delivery semantics. * Basics of networking, CPU, memory and storage. * Knowledge and understanding of Kerberos & active directory KDC. * Strong organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills Required Skills : Hadoop, Kafka, Spark Basic Qualification : Candidates must possess strong experience with Kafka administration.
