Job Title: Backend Data Engineer (Sunnyvale)

Location: San Bruno, CA

Job Description

  • The client is looking for three senior software engineers with who can work independently with minimal micromanagement. They should have expertise in Java, cloud infrastructure (GCP, Azure), and have strong leadership skills.
  • The project involves building data pipelines, connecting with contact center vendors, processing data, and pushing it to an event hub. The engineers will also need to work with the backend system in Java to publish events to GCP BigQuery and integrate it into the client's common data platform.
  • The client prefers candidates who can work on-site in Sunnyvale at least two days a week for better collaboration. The contract may have the opportunity to extend or convert to a full-time employee, depending on the project's progress and next year's budget. The technical touch base will be conducted by the client's team, preferably on Wednesdays, Thursdays, or Fridays.
  • The client has had issues in the past with contractors not being productive enough or not meeting deadlines, so they are looking for someone who can manage their work effectively and deliver tasks within the expected time frame.
  • The client prefers someone with previous Walmart experience, as it would be helpful for the project. They also mentioned the importance of verifying the candidate's identity during the interview process, as they had an issue in the past where a different person showed up on the joining day.
