This person is going to be a Data Expert!
Key Responsibilities
· Serve as the team’s technical subject matter all things related to data engineering in a Microsoft Azure Data environment
· Work under the direction of the Azure architect to define technical approaches, requirements and designs of batch, streaming and other data processing workloads
· Work with other Azure engineers to provision and implement Azure features required
· Implement, and support key data pipelines and data assets that provide structured and timely access to the data.
· Work with developers to build ETLs/ELTs to take data from various telemetry streams and data sources to craft a unified data model for analytics and reporting.
Skills and qualifications
· Expert understanding of Data Engineering in an Azure Cloud environment including ETL/ELT, Data Quality, Big Data
· 8+ years of hands-on experience building data management solutions on the Azure platform with demonstrated experience in:
· One or more of Cosmos DB, Data Lake Storage Gen2 or Azure Synapse (Azure Data Warehouse)
· Building data pipelines and ingesting data with at least two of the following:
o Polybase, Azure Data Factory and Azure Data Bricks
o Managing and monitoring data environments using Azure Monitor, Azure Data
o Explorer and Azure Log Analytics
· Effective at juggling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
· Comfortable in a corporate environment
· Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and self-motivation
· Ability to work effectively both individually and as part of a highly technical fast paced team
Nice to have:
· Bachelors or advanced degree in Computer Science, or similar field
· Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate highly desired
· Familiarity with Python, .NET or Powershell
· Experience building data sources for Power BI, Excel, and Reporting Services dashboards and reports
