Visual Studio Team Services / TFS Education Required: Bachelors Degree The Axway API developer will be responsible for creating powerful, scalable APIs using REST and other patterns that follow our API design standards and best practices. Designs, develops, tests, implements, and maintains complex integration solutions with limited direction. Leads and coordinates code/peer reviews of API development work to ensure it aligns to the business and technical requirements. Participates in or leads API development activities for a single functional area to achieve project objectives. Act as an expert in the areas of API Integration technologies, quality control and auditing of information, including working directly with developers and clients to resolve specific integration issues. Coding is required. Provide ongoing technical training for less experienced teammates, and mentor developers in API Integration methodologies and technologies. Actively advise in-house API specialist and management in the area of integration. Ensure that our APIs are consumer centric and extremely usable. Enrich and contribute to the standards, best practices and patterns with respect to API design. The successful candidate will be able to use the latest frameworks and patterns to great effect, and will write reusable, high performance code rapidly. Part of global API Platform Development and Maintenance. Operate as an important member of the API Scrum team. Engage with developer community and (internal) integration team. Creating Metrics and Monitors for API User (developer) Engagement. Work with a cross-functional team to translate customer needs and technology directions into new features and services. Documentation and Source Code sample development. Attending Hackathons with Platform Partners. Safeguard technical standards and established architectural guidelines. Advise on and develop connections to general infrastructure. Support and drive Quality Assurance. Review, extend and develop documentation and guidelines for on boarding and off boarding of integration resources. Support the on boarding process and optimize it. Gather developer and other stakeholder feedback to validate that the product works against stated metrics. Prioritize and deliver necessary enhancements. Drive day-to-day prioritization of work operations, projects and scope with the Scrum Master. Troubleshoot, Support, test events and reported issues. Help innovate and improve our delivery methods and drive the team towards continuously delivery (focusing on continuous integration, release trains etc Set up and maintain automated unit tests, performance test etc. Help to improve the API Scrum by refining the definition of done, ways of working and other processes used by the team to improve velocity and team karma. Required expertise includes: Expert experience in the Axway API Manager, Axway Policy Studio, Axway API Gateway, Analytics and other tooling within the Axway product suite. Experience in integration technologies like IBM WebSphere Message Broker or Microsoft BizTalk. Development experience using WSDL/SOAP/XML and REST/JSON and/or equivalent. Experience in programming languages like Java, .NET, JavaScript etc. Understand Channel development like mobile APPs, web sites and partner integrations. Possess a broad range of knowledge of around various API and Integration technologies. Proven experience with designing, testing, and implementing web-services and integrations in a Service Oriented Environment. Thorough understanding of Application Integration and Service Oriented Architecture. Proven experience with understanding and implementing integration patterns. Good understanding of B2B scenarios (gateways, security, business partner agreements Extensive experience working with SOAP, WSDL, XML Web Services and RESTful APIs Proven experience in Swagger and other API documentation languages In depth knowledge of using XML, XPath queries, XSLT, and complex schemas Extensive experience with message transformations and mappings Good Interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork, facilitation, communication and negotiation. Good written and verbal communication skills both in IT and business environment. Good planning and organizational skills. You can explain our APIs through prototyped examples and real demonstrations. We are interested in examples you've built. Proven experience in setting up and maintaining continuous integration with API tooling/Integrations tooling.
