Aws security architect/Lead

100% Remote

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced AWS Security Architect / Lead to design, implement, and oversee secure cloud architectures on AWS. This role is responsible for establishing security best practices, ensuring compliance, and protecting cloud-based systems, applications, and data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement secure AWS cloud architectures and solutions
  • Define and enforce cloud security standards, policies, and best practices
  • Conduct security assessments, threat modeling, and risk analysis
  • Implement identity and access management (IAM) strategies
  • Secure cloud infrastructure, networks, and applications
  • Monitor and respond to security incidents and vulnerabilities
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (ISO, SOC 2, GDPR, etc.)
  • Work closely with DevOps and engineering teams to integrate security (DevSecOps)
  • Implement security tools and services (SIEM, WAF, GuardDuty, etc.)
  • Lead security audits, reviews, and penetration testing initiatives
  • Mentor team members and provide technical leadership

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field
  • 8–12+ years of IT experience with 4–6 years in cloud security
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS security services (IAM, KMS, Shield, WAF, GuardDuty, Security Hub)
  • Deep understanding of cloud security architecture and best practices
  • Experience with network security, encryption, and key management
  • Knowledge of security frameworks (NIST, CIS Benchmarks, OWASP)
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Experience with monitoring/logging tools (CloudWatch, Splunk, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • AWS Certified Security – Specialty or Solutions Architect certification
  • Experience with multi-cloud environments (Azure, GCP)
  • Knowledge of container and Kubernetes security
  • Experience in DevSecOps pipelines and CI/CD security
  • Familiarity with zero-trust architecture
