JOB DESCRIPTION:
CORE SKILLS FOR A RELEASE ENGINEER
· Essential Tools for Release Engineers
o Pipeline CI/CD Tools and Orchestration: Jenkins, Azure DevOps, and/or Digital AI
o Project Management: ADO for tracking releases and dependencies.
o Collaboration Platforms: SharePoint, ADO Wiki, Teams, and Confluence
o Change Management: ServiceNow
o Others: Visual Code & Visual Studio, PowerShell, Terraform
o Repo Management: ADO & GitHub enterprise
o Reporting: PowerBi, Digital Ai Intelligence, Serving Blue.
· Release & Project Management:
o Experience managing release lifecycles
o Coordinating multiple applications and projects
o On Call Rotation to manage the week’s releases and orchestrate release night calls
· Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC): Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile frameworks.
· Cross-functional Collaboration: Ability to work with development, QA, operations, and business teams.
· Technical Knowledge:
o Experience with Azure DevOps and TFS administration, including customization of work items and workflows.
o Hands-on experience with build and release pipelines in Azure DevOps and/or Jenkins.
· Leadership: Leading technical teams and managing dependencies.
· Communication & Documentation: Clear communication of release schedules, risks, and readiness.
· Risk Management: Ability to anticipate and mitigate risks during release cycles.
· Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal communication, adaptability, analytical and problem-solving mindset.
