Title: Applications Support Specialist Duration: 1 Year + Location: Providence, Rhode Island Job Description This challenging and highly collaborative role supports secure application platform services capabilities with a focus on the design, development and continuous improvement of application platforms and environments. Join this motivated hands-on team engaging in tooling & technology research, service automation, orchestration, containerization, standardization, and application platform engineering support activities. Work as part of an evolving DevOps-focused environment with infrastructure engineering, operations, product development and CI/CD teams. Technologies include strict alignment with secure platform standards and practices in support of on-premises and/or cloud-based virtualized application servers on Windows Server & Linux, tooling such as Octopus Deploy & Azure DevOps, agile practices and emerging technologies such as infrastructure/configuration-as-code & containerization capabilities. Qualifications: Associates degree or equivalent experience required. Comptia A+/Network + Certification or equivalent experience for all server platform positions; Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) required for Windows server roles. 3+ years in Information Technology in a corporate server technology role. Understanding of server architecture and administration, Active Directory (AD), data networking components and concepts, troubleshooting servers and application environments, ability to work independently or as part of a team, ability to multi-task and have good communication (both written and verbal Experience with IIS, agile practices, service pipeline automation development, PowerShell, DevOps, configuration-as-code/infrastructure-as-code capabilities, and knowledgeable in Microsoft application platform technologies.
