Applications Administrator (Kronos & TCP)
Responsibilities:
· Leads Application projects to specifications, justify, design, build, implement or enhance, and test applications to meet dynamic business needs. Performs complex configuration, change management and testing activities to support a service-oriented architecture
· Escalate urgent problems requiring more in-depth knowledge to appropriate internal resources and management.
· Update and maintain system documentation (Technical Manual, Design Specification, application supporting vendor information, etc.)
· Lead and participate in software project implementations and major upgrade planning.
· Participate in the evaluation of new systems. Collaborate with technical teams to develop documentation, change management, and support standards.
· Perform deployments of application and product releases to production environments
· Designs and performs regression, impact, and acceptance testing for each new deployment.
· Manages test and production environments separately
· Create workaround procedures when standard procedures have failed and ensure issues are resolved in a timely fashion.
· Provide system enhancements, development, improvement, documentation of processes and training where appropriate;
· Provide timely and accurate support for laboratory information management system and other supported applications for internal and external users;
· Monitors application performance and uptime via established IT monitoring practices and methods.
· Application support renewals and License management.
· Develops and deploys standards, methodologies, and best practices for applications utilization, business process improvement, application interfaces, and report writing. Documents procedures, applications interfaces, servicelevel agreements, and other methodologies related to applications system
· Light Scripting and API Consumption for reporting, integration, or data management.
· Subject Matter Expert on commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) applications and custom-built applications.
· Manages workflows and in-application configurations to meet user community needs.
· Working with clients on feature requests, upgrades, migrations, integrations and maintenances.
Requirements:
· Proficient with at least one of the Work Force Management Solutions TCP and Kronos
· Uses imagination to develop new insights into situations and applies innovative solutions to problems; designs new methods where established methods and procedures are inapplicable or are unavailable.
· Must be able to express information to individuals or groups effectively; taking into account the audience and nature of the information; makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues and responds appropriately
· Identifies rules, principles, or relationships that explain facts, data, or other information; analyzes information and makes correct inferences or draws accurate conclusions
· Basic programming and scripting knowledge are highly desirable
· 10+ years of Application support and management experience.
· Previous experience working in a local government is a plus.
· Strong analytical and communication skills.
· Proficient in at least one programming language.
· Clear and effective communicator – both oral and written.
· Experience being a Subject Matter Expert in both enterprise class applications as well as smaller, more specialized applications in the city of Atlanta.
· Familiarity with Active Directory Federated Service, Azure Active Directory, and Single Sign On implementations (SSO).
· Passionate about software and service development.
· Ability to take ownership of an application and evangelize its proper use.
· Required Certifications as follows: Security +
· Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Mathematics, or related field or Bachelor of business administration, information systems.
· Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Education Requirement:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Mathematics or a directly related field
Education & Experience Equivalency:
One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education
Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.
Licensure & Certification:
A valid Driver's License may be required as a condition of employment.
Working Environment:
  • Subject to long, irregular hours.
  • Subject to many interruptions.
  • Subject to pressure for multiple calls, inquiries, and interruptions. Work is primarily performed in an office setting and frequently at other locations for meetings.
