Role: Apex Application Analyst

Job Description
The Apex Application Analyst will use their extensive knowledge of business processes to define requirements, improve processes and provide technical support for the Apex application within the NASC application platform.
The incumbent acts as an interface to key business users and is responsible for understanding and documenting business requirements, current and future processes, including processes for the entire enterprise.
This role will work with Business Relationship Managers in the collection and documentation of requirements, and to generate project business cases, define costs and benefits of a demand prior to being approved and included in the project portfolio.
Specific work experience:
Expert knowledge of Apex Office and Ticketing Systems
Knowledge of Haul Hub, Scalewatcher, RFID, SAP an asset
Minimum 3 years industry experience
ITIL certification an asset
Business Analysis certification an asset
Technical / functional skills:
Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC)
Knowledge of existing business and IT processes and technologies
Analyze internal and external customer needs through soliciting, evaluating and acting upon feedback
Knowledge of models systems and data to a logical level, user interface design, and prototyping, decision tables/trees, data flows.
Modeling notation (UML, Structured, BPMN)
Proficient in writing unambiguous, verified requirements to a testable level (functional and non-functional requirements)
Understand how Apex is being utilized, and through analysis, determine solutions to the issues. The solution could include training, a process change, modifications to business rules, modifications to or implementation of new technology, such as Haul Hub, Scalewatcher, RFID, or a combination of all.
Identify the current state of processes, eliciting useful and harmful attributes of them, documenting models of the processes and facilitating stakeholder groups to consensus regarding new business process designs.
Facilitate and lead in-depth workshops to elicit review and confirm business requirements, business process reengineering, data and workflows, business models, business rules and user interface design.
Translate client business requirements into functional and information documentation, identifying alternative business design options and solutions; ensuring that the solution(s) satisfy all business requirements.
Prepare and present project proposals, including financial analysis, cost estimates, terms of reference and cost/benefit studies for each option.
Identify and establish scope and parameters of systems analysis in order to define outcome criteria and measure-taking actions, develop and document business rules for conceptual designs and be able to communicate conceptual designs and business rules to developers.
Support all levels of management in defining business and operational goals by bringing clarity to unit strategies, understanding current process issues; conducting feasibility and business case analyses and making recommendations on business process improvements that may impact the business.
Ensure that solutions are in compliance with Group internal control procedures and security policy
Lead collaborative requirement discussions with key stakeholders across IT and business to ensure requirements are accurate and thorough
