Job Description:
Responsible for installation, administration of Greenplum Software on new Linux hardware.
Diligently partner with the infrastructure, network, database, application teams to provide database optimum performance and availability
Ensure that all databases are being backed up properly and are recoverable.
Work with development teams to optimize load jobs and automate schema/table clones
Assist application teams in designing and performance tuning.
Document all new and existing environments and create additional documentation for installations, upgrades, migrations etc. to match agreed-upon standards
Create shell scripts required for monitoring and alerting, as well as automating tasks day-to-day tasks.
Perform high-level, day-to-day operational maintenance, support, and upgrades for the Greenplum database
Capacity planning and implementation of new/upgraded hardware and software releases as well as for storage infrastructure
Manage and monitor Hadoop cluster and platform infrastructure
Experience working with batch processing and tools in the Hadoop technical stack (e.g. MapReduce, Yarn, Hive, HDFS, Oozie)
Provide support for Production issues.
Work with application teams and provide deployment support and troubleshoot development issues around Hadoop eco-system
