We have submitted candidates who have been rejected because their resumes read as a UI Designer and not UX Designer. Also, their portfolios did not impress the manager. He likes portfolios that show work that is going to allow access to data, can be accessed via mobile devices and can provide information for the client’s use.
UX Designer
As a User Experience Designer on the Client team you will be responsible for driving design deliverables such as wireframes, visual design, interaction models, and prototypes for next generation real-time user interfaces across all device types.
Job Responsibilities:
Managing the user experience vision for Client
Quickly designing process flows, wireframes, and visual design mockups to effectively conceptualize new product initiatives¬
Creating user-centered designs by considering market research, data, customer feedback, and technical constraints/opportunities
Constantly simplifying and distilling complex processes into intuitive and elegant user interfaces
Developing and maintaining detailed user-interface specifications
Communicating complex, interactive design concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization
Designing and carrying out targeted usability tests to validate design choices
Working with developers to implement strategies that ensure technical success
Primary Qualifications:
5+ years of experience with the user design process and methodology, combination of mobile/app/web/windows design and interaction design especially as it is applied to web-based applications
Regular and recent creation of various appropriate artifacts for the design of complex web and mobile applications, including flows, models, storyboards, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity comps
Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams with minimal supervision
Fluency with working with developers for user interface patterns for desktop browser, mobile web, and native mobile design
Experience working directly with multiple management levels for implementation of designs

Be very creative with design and prototyping as well as showing quality of the work done
Discuss how they have used “mock-ups” in previous work.
Discuss “style –guides” and value to Client
Ability to sell ideas and concepts to Business Units
Able to discuss and validate the value of UX design
Show previous work and discuss the decision tree structure that led to the final accepted design
Discuss how previous experience can be levered for Client needs
