Job Title: IT Application Technical Lead
Location: San Diego, CA - 92121
Duration: 12 Months (Strong Chances of Extension)

Job Description
The IT Software Application Technical Lead will provide technical implementation and oversight to IT projects in the pharmaceutical research industry, and has primary responsibility for the delivery of technical solutions that meets or exceeds business requirements. This position will preferably be based in San Diego, CA.
Duties & Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership for the delivery of IT projects, including delivery of a Lab Data Management system.
Ensure successful project delivery, following defined company SDLC process.
Ensure the technical solution will satisfy the requirements.
Collaborate with project architect, infrastructure team, project manager, vendor as needed.
Identify and communicate technical dependencies.
Identify technical risks and mitigation activities
Work with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues
Collaborate with the vendor on developing and implementing robust testing procedures.
Provide technical input to the project schedule and plan
Provide work estimates as needed
Travel required to other client research sites.
Skills
Experience in data management of lab imaging, including generation, storage and analysis.
Experience supporting scientific applications
Proven experience with Cloud technologies, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS
Experience with business analysis and project related technical leadership tasks.
Skilled in working in a cross-functional team environment
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, including lab scientists, IT teams and business managers.
Excellent active listening, written and oral communication skills
Experience
5 years’ experience in IT application delivery, support & management
Biotech/pharmaceutical industry experience, with particular focus on Scientific Research applications
Experience in the Lab, and specifically with lab data management systems is a plus.
Experience leading custom development projects is a plus.
Strong knowledge of solution development life-cycle (SDLC) techniques and industry best practice
Education
Minimal Bachelor degree in Chemistry/Biology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline
