Title: Sr. Project Manager (Salesforce)

Duration: 3 Months (Multiple Extensions)
Summary
The position requires expertise with waterfall project management (project plans, resource and budget management), as well as integrating vendor scrum teams, to ensure that an overall schedule is followed, and addressing interdependencies. The person must have considerable experience managing software development projects. Communications and reporting are key skills due to the visibility of the project; the person will need to interact with a diverse audience, from internal technical teams, to vendors and to senior executives in a number of organizations.
The position is a temporary position, 40 hours a week, based in San Ramon.
Job Description
· As Project Manager III - IT, your specific responsibilities will include:
o Plan priorities that impact multiple or enterprise/global projects.
o Manage end-to-end project delivery of multiple projects with highly complex issues, tech platforms.
o Typically manage projects at the Enterprise level.
o Project point of contact for communications, milestones and review briefings.
o Accountable for assuring effective transition into production and meeting production acceptance readiness criteria.
o Highly effective organization of meetings to ensure flow, participation, progress, proactive mitigation of risks and issues; can train others.
o Develop, update and maintain project plan and other project documentation.
o Manage, lead project team in, project activities including analysis, design and development, testing, training, implementation and post implementation.
o Assign tasks, provide guidance, mentor project team.
o Plan and direct schedules to ensure the project is completed on time and within budget.
o Analyze and facilitate resolution of issues; carefully controls change.
o Interact with necessary stakeholders/team members to manage project scope and identify, evaluate, communicate, escalate issues.
o Communicate status of project within/across depts.
o Optimize results through highly effective communications.
o May be enlisted to assist in gathering portfolio data, preparing presentations, completing data analysis, or other ad hoc tasks to contribute to the overall vertical or enterprise portfolio.
o Communicate with IT leadership, business leadership and IT Business Consultants to communicate program or project strategy, direction and changes.
o Communicate status of project within/across depts.
o Optimize results through highly effective communications.
Qualifications:
o Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required, preferably in IT Project Management.
o PMP (or comparable PM certification
o 10+ years’ IT experience of which is required 7+ years’ project management experience.
o Budget management: consistently maintains and uses project budget and actuals tracking to ensure costs are maintained within the specified tolerance level, and can train others in these skills.
o Impact analysis: consistently able to assess impact for, with minimal supervision, each project aspect and determine if project can expand or not to address new idea, and can train others.
o Project planning: consistently able to independently translate functional requirements into project plans, and can train others.
o Project implementation: consistently able to effectively implement all project phases, and can train others.
o Project management fundamentals: advanced knowledge of schedule, risk management, issues management, leadership, and can train others.
o Documentation: consistently clear, accurate, and can train others.
o Communication: consistently demonstrates advanced clear, articulate, concise; verbal and written.
o Organization/prioritization: consistently utilized and effective over own work.
o Demonstrated effective (intermediate level) use and experience with MS Visio, Project & Excel.
o Leadership skills: extensive demonstrated experience in overall lead role (senior project level, management/direction setting experience.
o Problem analysis and solving skills: consistently applied within project management environment.
o Matrix management skills: demonstrated experience.
o Extensive demonstrated experience incorporating software development life cycle into project plan.
o General knowledge of IT applications and infrastructure environment.
o Demonstrated experience at maintaining forward progress despite conflicting priorities and competition for resources.
